Enhancing the quality of life one step at a time

Stairway Counseling Services, LLC

How We Serve

DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION

We offer diagnostic evaluations in which we will conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine if counseling is needed. This initial session is usually 1 1/2-2 hours long. During this assessment, we will gather information as it relates to biological, psychological, and social information about you. All information gathered is considered private and confidential. There are limits to confidentiality which will be discussed at the initial appointment.

TREATMENT

Treatment includes individual counseling and/or family counseling. Counseling sessions are usually 45-60 minutes for about 6-12 sessions. The number of counseling sessions can vary and is dependent upon the progress and completion of treatment goals. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Therapy (CT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR); Person-Centered/Client-Centered Therapy are a few of the treatment modalities that will be used by the counselor. The counselor may take an eclectic approach which is a combination of several major psychological theories. Each client is unique and will receive an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to fit his or her specific needs.
